Has your standard pale lager appearance, with a vigorous white head and a clean pale copper body. Yeast-free, with a pleasant albeit generic presentation.

Aroma is graced with an unexpected pleasing softness suggestive of crystal malts and perfumey floral hops. Gentle and inviting, but obviously simple in its malt build. Shallow pilsner malts and pale malts are anticipated.

The taste satisfies the meagre promises of the aroma, but the crystal malt is nice, and is brought out impressively by the softness and cleanliness of the texture. It's malt-dominant, but never comes off as cheap or artificial (read: malt syrupy) as ordinary Sandels. I'd say this is definitely an improvement, and it's better than most pale lagers.

Overcarbonated, simple, and shallow. Build is cohesive but not gestalt. There's no harmony of texture and taste. Underwhelming hop profile.

Highly drinkable (to style), hiding its modest ABV well. But it won't impress the discerning drinker. In the upper echelon of Finnish pale lagers, but what is that really saying?

Poured from 500 ml bottle to a 500 ml Ale glass.

A: Very pale in color. Poured with a slight head, a finger wide. Head lasted a few minutes before dissipating. Very clear. Carbonation is vast; good to see.

S: Smells reminds me of a mixture of biscuits and fresh bread. Also can detect small hints of banana.

T: The taste of bread and biscuits still comes to mind but the hints of banana are gone. Floral taste of hops are present as well as it sits in your mouth. Surprisingly smooth finish and a pleasant aftertaste reminiscent of bread.

M: Light taste and very smooth finish. Carbonation could be slightly high; noticed a bit of burning on the tip of my tongue, but nothing too crazy.

O: Overall, I was surprised with this beer, given the poor ratings of the other style. Not as amazing as other Euro Pale Ales, but with a delightful taste and smooth finish, I'd have it again if I were to visit the Baltic States. Not bad for a gift back from Finland!
