OLVI Tuplapukki Double Bock is the most popular extra strong lager (> 5,5 %) beer in Finland. Its strong alcoholic flavour is softened by a freshness of taste that is brought about by extended fermentation. The beer is coppery in colour and has an enduring foam. It is an excellent beverage to be slowly savoured or enjoyed as a nightcap. Enjoy your OLVI Tuplapukki beer well chilled.

A buttery boozy diacetyl-ridden mess made for the oblivious hoi polloi.
Easily one of the worst beers I've had while living in Finland.
Don't bother.

330 ml. bottle. Pours a deep golden colour, with a small head that doesn't hold, but leaves a small lace. Smell is metallic, medicinal syrup and artificial caramel. Light body, sticky in the palate like the worst of the syrups you can have. Taste is the same as smell: Medicinal, metallic and some artificail sweetness.

Can provided by my father in law.
A: Pours a dark gold liquid with lot of carbonation. A four finger high head that quickly dissolves and leaves next to no lacings on the glass. The head is very porous and uneven.
S: Smells metallic, detergents, sweets and some malts.
T: Tastes very metallic, corn sugar, almost no malts and lots of unbalanced alhohol.
M: Watery at best. There is no body in this beer.
O: It's clear that this beer is brewed for only one purpose - to get wasted without spending much money. It's like any bad Euro Lager but with more alcohol. I will probably pour out the rest.

Bought canned in Finland.
Foamy top, disappears fast. Colour - just a little darker than average lager, like dark gold. First taste - a bit of malt, than goes metal and some stupid sweetness. . Finish - strong alcohol, no hops to balance.
Not doppelbock at all

Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly, leaving little lace. Crystal clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty/hoppy nose. Flavor is sweet malty with some hoppy overtones. 330ml bottle 1.72 Alko Oy Helsinki, Finland. From my notes - 7/9/2008.

The colour is medium gold; the finger thick white head is semi compact. No lacing.
Smell is sweet with a blend of cookies, barley grains and malt. There are hints of bitter almonds and alcohol. Unbalanced.
The taste is quite mild: Lots of sweet malt (cheap cookies, white bread), some sour-bitter flavours, lots of alcohol. The aftertaste is also rather sweet with artificial flavours of vanilla and massive amounts of alcohol. In the finish, I found some metallic bitter notes.
The carbonation is average: Quite strong medium sized bubbles. The liquid is a bit thick.
Yet another Scandinavian strong lager tailor made for getting pissed.
