Inspired by a porter recipe developed 140 years ago by the founder of Olvi, this recipe has been adapted to the present day to create the dark, toasted, malty, full-bodied and flavourful Olvi Iisalmi Porter.

0,5L can purchased at K-market. Pours a deep, ruby color with a thick, off-white head. Not as dark as other Baltic Porters, but I welcome it. Aroma is grainy, flavor is quite toasty and malty, but it finishes very dry. Notes of coffee with a hint of caramel sweetness too. Crisp on the palate with a full, round, mouthfeel that gets a bit creamy as the beer warms. Insanely drinkable when paired with its mild 6.5% ABV, which makes it very approachable.
Hoping this one becomes a year-round offering. The world needs more Baltic Porters with range.
