Dark copper hue, approaching red. Head settles into a lean, soapy layer. Isolated wisps of foam remain. Lightly toasty, medium caramel malt offset by vibrant, but restrained notes of sweetened grapefruit. Devoid of esters, but appropriately clean for an APA. Snap of malt sweetness upfront leads into hints of bready pale malt and moderate, drying hop, citrus rind like hop bitterness. Very well attenuated, nearly bone dry and lacking substantial malt backbone. As it warms, trace toasted malt hints add depth without detracting from the dry, quenching theme. Finishes nearly squeaky clean, with only hints of soapy hop and dry cracker. A simplistic, but highly drinkable APA. A session brew all the way. Tasty overall.
