We ate here twice during our visit to Juneau. In both cases, the food was above average and the service below average. To be fair, I think Juneau is having a staffing crisis - almost every restaurant was either requiring reservations or just flat-out saying they weren't booking any more tables. And this was before the big cruise ships reopened - ought to get interesting! Anyway, beer selectin was pretty limited (a half dozen drafts; maybe 8-10 bottles/cans). Ambience was sort of a frenzied free for all, with the wait staff doing their best but long wait times for food and beer. It IS waterfront, with an outside bar, so if the weather cooperates the views are great.

Probably the best beer selection at a bar I ran into in Juneau. As others have said the view of the channel is amazing and make this worthy of a stop. Very clean and does have the feel of an old hangar. Lots of local Alaskan offerings both on tap and in bottles. Service was nice and friendly despite being earlyish--11:30 AM. I would go back here.

One of the better places in the city of Juneau. Food might be mostly pub fare, but it's quite good to me. Service can be hit or miss for the couple of times I was able to go here. It's a pretty happening sort of place to be honest.

Probably one of the better beer places in Juneau for selection of beers. I recommend going here as its a very nice clean establishment with good service and good food. One might have to make reservations depending upon how big your party is and if you're going on a weekend during tourist season, but check it out and watch the seaplanes take off over the mountains while drinking some beers.

Ok beer selection. They have a good number of taps but nothing really unique or special save for the occasional Alaskan rough draft that comes through. The food is standard pub quality.

The Hangar has the most extensive selection of handles in Juneau. (23) as well as probably the best bottle selection in town. That said, you're not really going to find anything that rare here. As with the rest of town, Alaskan Brewing has a stranglehold on the selection, and there are usually around 6 handles of Alaskan beers on.
The great view of the channel/Douglas/ships and proximity to the cruise docks mean it's usually busy and that the taps change somewhat frequently. I have noticed that they pour beers here that you don't typically see elsewhere in town, and they get other AK breweries pretty frequently (Glacier, Denali, Kenai River, Midnight Sun), and usually have some good PNW stuff on (Deschutes, Ninkasi, Elysian, Bridgeport, etc)
If you're in town on a cruise, you will definitely hit this spot.

This place rules. First you sit right beside the river, you get a breath taking view of the mountains, the ships and float planes. The restaurant is clean, neat pics and great layout. The server was extra nice and friendly. The tap list was great, about 20 craft beers, 5 on tap including local Alaskan brewing beers. The food was awesome. Fresh, hot and very flavorful. Prices were fair for beer, 5-7$ a bottle, and 10-13$ for 22oz's. Most food was around 10$ and as stated was high quality. Make this your stop after visiting Alaskan brewing, best bar in town.

Defintely a really amazing view at this bar. Worth it to stop in for at least just one beer in your Juneau travels. The tables face a wall to wall window view of the harbor, with floatplanes coming in and taking off, the cruise ships (bleh) and snow capped mountains. The draft beer and bottle list was pretty good. Had some Full Sail IPA in bottle and an Alaskan beer. Alaskan beers are great.
We hit this place up after visiting the Alaskan Hotel Bar, which was our favorite...much more of a dark, old bar with Midnight Sun beers on tap.

Stopped in on my Alaskan Cruise.
They had a nice selection of brews from the Pacific Northwest. They had tons of Alaskan brews on tap including the rare Jalapeno IPA, try it if you can. They had some Midnight Sun beers in bombers (only place I could find Midnight Sun) which was way cool
Lots of locals in the bar and the staff were beer knowledgeable.
The locale is as good as it gets for drinking a beer. In front of the bar is a huge picture window that looks out to the mountains, cruise ships, and float planes taking off and landing.
I have NEVER in all my travels had a beer in a more beautiful setting.
If you find yourself in Juneau, take a helicopter to a glacier and then park your ass in a bar stool here.

This place is the least touristy alternative in Juneau with a decent beer selection. Was able to get several Midnight Sun beers in bottle and some other local stuff on draft. Great setting overlooking the channel and ships, with big picture windows. Pretty normal bar appearance inside. Avoid the dark and dingy upstairs with no view. The food pretty decent pub food with some excellent fish and chips on hand and quite expenive Alaskan king crab claws available as well. Lots of other burgers and southwest style stuff as well. The bartender is willing to chat with tourists about the local beer scene. Pretty touristy, but less so than other options, and there are definitely locals at the bar. Not bad at all.

This is a nice place right on the water and close to all the ships that are docked in juneaus abundant downtown ports. The atmosphere is good with water/mountain views but the place does feel kinda too open and not very homey/divey for my liking. Not very worn in, i'd say..."too new" would be another way to put it. It is also located within a kind of cheezy touristic mall complex as well. Anyway with that aside the quality of the food and beers is veyr good and the tap selection is probably the best in juneau with the occasional rough drafts from alaskan (just up the road) and midnight sun specials, as well as some pacnw brews from the likes of rogue and elysian. The service wa sjust decent though, with no printed beer menu, and a "just look at the taps" response when I asked what was flowing one night. All things aside a very nice bar in downtown juneau, but i'll stick to the alaskan hotel bar myself. A nice selection and much, much better service and ambiance (including gold rush era spirits :-)

This place has the best tap selection in Juneau . It also is right on the water with great views down the Gastineau Channel. The food is good standard restaurant fare with a couple of alaskan foods. The service is hit or miss. They also have a good bottle selection. They get Alaskan beer vincluding the occassional rough drafts, Haines brewing company, Midnight Sun specialties and many many more. The taps are often rotating. This is a good place for a pint downtown. Tourists: this place is easy to find and not far from the cruise ships.
