- 100% fermented biere de garde with french pale and munich malts.

(3.75) A: Goblet on tap from brewery. Dark tangerine, dense coloring, with little/nearly no head formation when poured. Minimal visible carbonation presence as well minimal lace on the way down.

(3.85) A: Aroma was fruity, traces of fresh breakfast fruit, berries with sweet sugary malts and caramel. A very light muskiness but very clean aroma overall.

(3.95) T: Flavor was fruity with a light caramel sweetness. White grapes, fruity sweet sultanes, applesauce with a subtle wild yeastiness.

(3.8) M: was creamy smooth, very nice depth with a quiet demeanor of carbonation.

(3.85) O: Overall a enjoyable drink, subtle wild yeastiness accents but not enough to turn off noobs, a sweet caramelized fruitiness and very cleanly brewed with an exceptional polished flavor.

Served in a snifter, this is my first beer at this place in almost a decade. Different brewmaster, still great beer. This one was a hazy medium gold with 1 cm of pillowy white head that slowly diminished to wisps of lasting head that laced the glass all the way down. The smell is malty and slightly musty. Lightly floral to pair up with the roasted malts. The taste follows suit, with a wonderful malt backbone to support the wild yeast and just a enough of a hops presence to give it a crisp finish. But it's the wild yeast! Being out of the 'beer geeking' habits I used to be in, I forgot how wonderfully peculiar this can be. A bit musty and earthy? Maybe a little tart? A bit of a funk... but in a good way... like brets but not quite as in-your-face. In all this beer was WONDERFUL. I really enjoyed it, and I look forward to stopping into Williamsport again.
