On tap at the brewpub on 3/6/09. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a clear copper with a thin head of fizzy white foam. This doesn't retain much at all. As a matter of fact, I'm about 1/2 way through the glass and this looks absolutely dead. I'm not getting much from this in the aroma but a little bit is still there. A light tang of sticky smelling malts and citrus with some floral hops in the back.
The taste is a bit more assertive with notes of bread, caramel, and citrus, that impart a short-lived tang that is punctuated by a fairly forward hop profile which gives this some zip. A steady lingering bitterness emerges in the back, forsaking a completely clean Lager finish, and ending things on a good note. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sharp carbonation and crisp feel. Like I mentioned before the finish isn't overly clean but I didn't mind at all.
Not bad. While this wasn't bursting with flavor, I was glad to see that it packed more than your typical American Lager. Plus this stayed drinkable enough to nicely compliment the burger that I had for dinner.

Very drinkable beer one can have all day long. A but aggressive in carbonation but brewed for the public that comes here for their Mardi Gras, so take the place of pop with a hamburger. Hazy amber. Well balanced like most of their lineup. Unusual positive smell to all their beers.
