had this one on-tap at the brewpub, and convinced them to fill a growler of this against their will, for an extremely high cost, and reviewed the growler at home the very next day.

adding this beer, it was hard to decide between bspa and bpa.. flavors of a strong but a lower abv. went for strong since it seems strong for their beers..

pours a day-glo orange.. clearer than most belgians with quite an active bubble life. solid foam which leaves an arched lacing.. outline remains and the bubbles cascade down my glass. the nose is yeasty with floral, citrus and honey notes. yummy toffee. not outrageously overpowering. taste is super malty with orange and caramel smoothness. peppery kick in the finish which adds true character to this belg-clone.

this brew gives a real warming sensation as it goes down and has serious substance and body for a medium-high abv. bitterness and dry, grassy aftertaste provide a surprising complexity.

diabolique is a world of flavor packed into a light, drinkable session belgian. holiday spice in the finish is countered by a buttery luxury which comes out after 1/2 of your first glass is down. evolving still and there's 3/4 of a growler left to go.

it was worth the fight for the growler.
