-on draft @ location. In pint glass. Made with Alabaster Coffee.

A: Dark coffee pour produces a head of ¼ inch, pretty standard sizing for most of bullfrog’s offering. The head was moderately well retaining, but failed to produce and stickage.

S: The coffee factor was rather light, with a light roastiness that you may have to revisit multiple times in order to get a good sense. Dry chocolate, some milk roast gives a gentle spike in senses.

T: As with most of bullfrog’s drinks, the flavor is very smooth, very clean and crisp. Smooth silky roast with a light coffee presence adds faint highlights. The bitterness factor is also very light per style, with some sweet chocolate mixing in towards the finish.

M: The mouthful was silty smooth and easy of carbonation. Very relaxed and gentle going off the tongue. Light bodied.

O: Overall this was a very easy drinking stout, more porter drinking with a light coffee presence and a faint silty ash touch. Hardcore stout fans may find this a bit tame, but the general masses will appreciate the smooth and easy drinking nature of just enjoying good beer. This goes very well by the way with the Old smokey burger which I paired it with. The flavor seems to grow and increase as the drink passes.

On tap at Bullfrog Brewery in Williamsport, PA.

This one pours a dark-ish murky brown, with a small head, and no lacing.

This smells like weak, old coffee, with light dusty chocolate, and some roasted malt.

This is a bit disappointing for me. The coffee flavor just feels old and burnt, and doesn't feel evocative or complex. The base stout is also not that interesting to me either- there's a hint of chocolate, and your usual roasted malt- but nothing that would forgive the tepid coffee profile.

This is light bodied, kind of creamy, with a normal level of carbonation.

This is one of Bullfrog's occasional misses- they don't happen often, luckily.

Poured from a growler into a snifter glass. Very dark color Nice lacing and head. Smells and tastes of coffee. A very good stout. It definitelly can compete with other coffee stouts I have had.

This stout is reason enough to take the trip to Williamsport if you are within a 100 mile radius. Even a slight waft of this beer will take you to a lazy Sunday morning with the coffee brewing. It's got a beautiful coffee aroma that reaches down into the stout's roasty flavor without compromising the beer's inherent stout qualities. Good mouthfeel, although not as heavy as some, it's still fairly robust and filling. Overall a fantastic beer, and perhaps the best coffee stout I've ever had.

This is about as much pure coffee aroma and flavor as you're going to get from a beer. Burnt, roasted coffee goodness with a nice malty stout backbone.
