This is a summer offering at Bullfrog in Williamsport, PA.
Appearance: The ale is a dark yellow color with a thick head that laces nicely in the glass.
Smell: The big drawback here is a lack of aroma. I can't pick up any hops and only a light malt smell makes it through.
Taste: The ale has a firm malt biscuit flavor that is enhanced by a strong earthy hop flavor. While no one discloses it, I think that the hops have to be saaz or another noble varietal, as they add a very pleasant dirty flavor.
Mouthfeel: The hops are fresh and strong on the palate, leaving the mouth feeling dry and parched (and forcing me to take another sip).
Drinkability: The pils style is often tough to nail. This one is not perfect (I'd like more hops), but it is a good representation.
