A - pours a dark brown with 1/4 inch of tan foam that never seemed to go away

S - strong aroma of coffee as well as cream, roasted malt

T - as expected, strong coffee and roasted malt flavor with hints of cream with a bit of a bitter aftertaste

M/D - very smooth beer, probably one of the top in my opinion. I could have had alot more of this.

On nitro-tap at Bullfrog Brewery on 1/4/09.

A - Poured a deep black onyx body with one-finger creamy, nougat-colored crown that retained exceptionally well and left a thick wall of lace all around the glass.

S - Aroma is, well, coffee and cream... pure and simple. The nose boasts dark roasted malt and sweet lactose with hints of vanilla and bittersweet ice cream.

T - Spot-on coffee flavor with dark roasted malt notes and plenty of sweet cream. Some chocolate notes also emerge in the backend. Finishes with a subtle bitter twang and more roasted malt goodness. Delicious!

M - Luscious mouthfeel with a smoth, velvety texture and very soft carbonation akin to a cask pour. Finishes with just a touch of dry bitterness on the palate.

D - One of the best coffee cream stouts I've had. Definitely a pleasure to drink. I liked this so much that I had two in a row (a rarity for me)! The nitro pour hit this one out of the park for me. Simply put, this is a fantastic stout!

Served on nitro into a pint glass at the brewpub on 12/27/08.

Pours a deep dark brown (just almost black) with +1 fingers of silky light mocha colored head. Retention stays stays thick and creamy from the nitro, leaving solid lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma starts out with lactic sweetness up front that then melds into roasted coffee in the back. This was a bit subdued at first but then opened more towards the end.

The taste is once again milky sweetness that gives way to roasty and more astringent feeling coffee character. The creme wins out in the end, with a finish that is more sweet than bitter. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a wonderfully smooth and creamy feel from the nitro pour. Nice.

Hmmm. I'm not quite sure if this was a Creme Stout with coffee added or a Coffee Stout with cream added, it was that well balanced between the two sides. Good stuff that made for a solid dessert in a glass.

10 bbl batch made with 10 pounds of Sumatran Mandling coffee and 55 lbs of lactose!

A-Deep, dark brown with ruby brown highlights. Thin, creamy, mocha head. Reduced nicely to leave copious lace.

S-Light coffee with a sweet cream aroma. Nothing overpowering.

T-Aroma belies what the taste brings...Mmmmm, sweet creamy goodness followed immediately by a delicious wave of dark roast coffee. A wonderful combination.

M-Medium-heavy with a luscious creamy feel. Oh, so smooth.

D-Smooth, rich and creamy. A decadent brew if there ever was one....very, very nice.
