On tap @ brewery 7-15-09.
A: Poured a translucent butter-gold with virtually no head when served in a tall pilsner glass. Visible carbonation was nearly non-existent as well the lacing. Not much to go on here style points.
S: The nose had a fresh lemony aroma with pale grains. The saaz hops come through quite nicely here. Overall the aroma was very crisp, with a touch of sweet spiciness before finishing with a wet lemony twang that lingers quite a bit.
T: beautiful, semi-dry lemons against dry pale grains that had a touch of soft floral hopping as well. The grains came off buttery sweet with spicy hops (saaz) in the middle of the palate before it finished out with a dry lemon floral hopping. The flavor was complex, especially for a pils with sweet buttery malt side as well as spicy and dry floral side as well. Ranks right up there with the best of pilsners ive tasted thus far. The finish leaves you wanting more with a long love affair of pale grains and dried lemon skins that tickle the tongue with delight.
M: slick, extremely smooth and devoid of any carbonation. A pretty good hold here, but is a hard follow up to the flavor.
D: Drinkability was very good as well enjoyment. A hoppy pils with a great backbone of dry pale grains gives this a sweet, spicy and dry transistion and definitely one of the best pilsners ive come across. Would rate this up there with one of my favorites Troegs Sunshine. Comes as a high recommend, easy drinkability and a high enjoyment factor. Growler worthy
