Pours a nice deep amber with a tan head that has decent retention.

Smells of cherry, fig, fermented wheat, and earthy herbal notes.

Cherry, fig, and nuts up front with wheat wine notes and earthy herbal hops in the back. A very decent barley wine.

On tap at Bullfrog Brewery in Williamsport, PA.

This one pours a golden brownish color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like dark fruit, port, caramel, cherry, chocolate, and breadiness.

This would be excellent in a barre, but it’s solidly complex and tasty even without it. There’s lots of dark fruit, sort of like an aged character, with chocolate, soft breadiness, light booze, and caramel.

This is medium bodied, kind of creamy, with a decent drinkability for the style.

There’s some puzzlingly low reviews for this one on Untappd, but I honestly enjoyed this one.

Poured into a goblet: color is dark amber/brown, amber/tan head with fine bubbles presents 1/2 inch thick then dissipates to whispy top with ring on glass.

Smell deep malt, raisin/fig/dark fruit, some chocolate, earthy hops - complex and sweet and new notes with warming.

Taste is similar with deep malt flavor, caramel, dark fruit, cherry like notes with raisin and chocolate - similar in flavor to dark cherry chocolate after the malt caramel mellows through the palate; earthy hops, complexity deepens with some warmth; sweet but abv and booze is not burning.

Mouthfeel is low carb, moderate/strong sweetness, fairly bitter.

Overall a nice barleywine, a sipper for sure with strong malt, strong sweetness, complex fruity/malt/light chocolate notes.
