Bourbon barrel aged for a year. Served at the Fall 2009 (11/13) Pub Club Dinner.
A-Hazy, deep copper tinted brown with a thin light tan ring that left spotty lace.
S-Rich dark/sweet malt with leather, oak, vanilla, fruity (plum/raisin) and cocoa notes. This gets better and better with warmth.
T-Rich, dark bitter cocoa with plum, malt sweetness, black currant, 5 day old banana and spicy notes. All of this with the vanilla sweet, oaky dry bourbon kick in the teeth.
M-Medium bodied, smooth beyond words with LOTS of flavour and a deep and spicy, dry finish.
D-A big, burly ass kicker! So much flavour and amazing smoothness this is nice stuff for sure. Simply a nice beer to start and with barrel aging for a year well....outstanding.
