On tap at AuRants in Duryea, PA.
Served in a snifter, it was a dark brown color with very little head. What was there disappeared quickly and left a pretty flat looking drink; looked a bit like cola.
Smell was very smoky, with a sour cherry aroma, a bit of roasted malt and a subtle Belgian yeast quality.
Taste is also quite smoky; in fact, not having had their Smoked Porter, I imagine it must be very smoky for the smoke to still be coming through so strongly in this blend. There's a roasty quality here too, and just a bit of sweetness. There is some sour cherry coming through as well, which provides a nice contrast to the smoke. I like the blend.
Mouthfeel was very lightly carbonated but I didn't miss the carbonation. It was still quite smooth.
This was quite the interesting beer, and although it is definitely not something I'd want all the time, I enjoyed it and would order it again if it were still on. The smoke was very strong but the sour cherry provided a nice contrast. Tasty stuff.

A special one-off blend made for Terry's wife Sam. Served at the Bullfrog Brewers Dinner at AuRant's Duryea, PA 3/21/10.
A one-of-a-kind blend of Kegs Gone Wild! Smoked Porter, Black Light (Belgian Dark Mild) and Organic sour cherry juice.
A-Hazy copper kissed brown with a thin tan ring of foam that left spotty lace.
S-Light smokiness up front that quickly gives way to a sharp jab of sourness and backing toffee malt.
T-Wow! Smoke and sour and surprisingly rich malt combine in a whirlwind of flavour. I find it amazing how the taste profiles all come together and work so well with each other rather than turning into a muddled mess of miss matched flavours.
M-Medium-light bodied fairly sharp and quite crisp. Nice lingering smoky/sour bite.
D-Impressed with this one. Smoke and tart sourness combine into a fusion of flavours. Somewhat akin to an Asian fusion dish of smoked meat and a tart, tangy sauce. This one-off treat was an impressive blending of beers and flavours! If this beast was my neighbor she could come over to borrow a cup of sugar or an egg any day!
