On tap at the brewpub. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a dark shade of brown with a thin off white head. This recedes somewhat quickly without leaving too much lace behind. The nose brings a good dose of caramel, toffee, and bready sweetness. The taste isn't terribly sweet but offers caramel and toffee candy flavors as well as some drier bread. Medium body. A nice, soft ale that went down smoothly.

A-Dark copper with a medium tan head that reduced to a thin cap and left spotty lace.
S-Lightly sweet caramel malt, touch of toffee and a subtle waft of smoke. Nothing outrageous but for a rather light brew it is pleasant.
T-Light bitter bite of roasted malt up front that is quickly washed away with a healthy dose of sweet caramel and toffee. Insidious smokiness hides underneath the layers of sweetness and becomes more prevalent with warming.
M-Medium-light bodied with a very smooth finish.
D-A sessionable Scottish ale with plenty of flavour and complexity to keep it interesting throughout the glass.

On tap at the Bullfrog.
A - Poured a dark amber colour with a small amount of toffee coloured foam that stuck around for a few minutes.
S - Sweet roasted malts and caramel. Not a very pronounced nose.
T - Sweet roasted malts, caramel & toffee. The toffee flavour on the palate was perfect.
M - a light body with a very smooth finish.
D - This was a very enjoyable beer. It is a stlye that I don't typically drink and I would buy this one over and over again.
