thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing this growler with me - pour chilled into a tulip pint.
A - A beautiful orange color bordering on rust w/ a 1/2 inch of off white cap. The bead is of average size w/ a baby swiss-like lace pattern sticking to the glass. The retention is good - an eye pleasing brew.
S - A smell that has both herbal and earthy aromas w/ mild vegetal notes and slight tea-like odors w/ a light woody aspect - not much in the way of malt aroma-basically a hop forward smell
M - A nice hoppy entry but thin body is not enough to support the bitterness w/ a thin almost watery body w/ slightly sweet finish. The bitter is slightly astringent which lingers after the swallow
T - While the taste has nice biscuit and mild caramel malt w/ the slightly tea-like and bitter edged Palisade hopping, the taste dries out and flattens on the palate soon after the second taste. There is a subtle lingering bitterness into the finish
D - A basic pale w/ more biscuit than I prefer w/ a more obvious malt and hop disconnect after 1/2 the pint is finished. I consider this a try it once beer but nothing fantastic
