Had this 5/7/10 on-tap at Bullfrog (Jaspers release day)
A-Body is a nearly opaque golden yellow color with fogginess that is dynamic. Served with a 1/2 finger soapy white head which eventually fades to a thin collar and some lacing is left behind in the glass.
S-Slightly tart, some sweet bready yeast, some funk, and a good dose of citrus (orange/lemon). Overall character of the nose is mild with the funk and citrus coming through a bit more than the tart and bready characters.
T-Lots of funky yeast upfront as well as a hint of tart lemon flavor. The finish adds a bit of spiciness to the initial flavors as the funk increases. Some additional tartness and a touch of floral hops come through as well and a sweet bready yeast. Overall the flavor is very good and well balanced.
M- Mild carbonation and a relatively light weight body that is full. Slightly pulpy.
D- Overall this is a great saison and one of my favorites. Very complex and very balanced. This was the first brew of the evening I had at Bullfrog and by far the best. Looking forward to hopefully making another Bullfrog special release day!

This is the Kegs Gone Wild Version of the Water of Life Saison served on tap at the Jaspers release.
Pours a very cloudy, dark ripe golden banana color with golden yellow hues when held to a light source and a two finger frothy white head. Excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting ring that leaves sporadic spots of lacing behind.
Funky brett dominated aroma with some tart earth scent, band aid and champagne effervescence. The typical aromas found in the base beer are present(hints of earthy funk, peppery spice and light fruits) but they are overpowered by the strong brett presence.
Medium bodied with a very dry, funky tart flavor that lingers throughout into a spicy dry finish. Again, as in the aroma, the brett dominates the taste giving off a lot of earthy dry funk. The beer is only slightly sour and much funkier and drier than tart which was a bit unexpected. After the initial funkiness I'm picking up some hints of the base beer towards the end of the palate. Slight earthy funk with some bready yeast, nice peppery spice and crisp light fruit, mostly apple and pear. This bit beer was a bit one dimensional and too brett heavy but I still found it very tasty and quite drinkable.
