Taster at brewery. Dark brown pour, ring of head. Malty aroma, notes of chocolate. Taste is malty, chocolate, root beer, sweet, with alcohol appearing at the back. Glowing warmth.

5 oz mini-snifter pour at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a large, rocky head. Aroma and flavor feature sweet dark fruit (fig, raisin), coffee, chocolate malt, dark bitter malt, and a hint of citrusy/earthy hops. Complex, not super boozy (for the abv), and sweet but not cloying. Sticky, syrupy mouthfeel - appropriate for the style. Overall it's an interesting and solid beer, if not something I'd want to drink in quantity.
