a: This was a slightly hazy chestnut brown color. It was served to me with a medium sized fizzy cap. Looks like a Scottish ale...
s:... but it sure doesn't smell like one. The idea of a Scottish ale with bugs just doesn't sound good to me, but somehow this actually works pretty well. There are hints of earthy vanilla. I think so anyway, it could be my imagination though. What I smelled most was acidic, mildly fruity vinegar.
t: Here again, the bugs took over. Once again though, it tastes a hell of a lot better than I thought it would. More acidic than tart I guess, there were some fairly strong apple cider vinegar flavors. I'm pretty sure I tasted some peaty vanilla as well.
m: Medium bodied with active, spritzy carbonation.
d: I want to call this a wild ale, but others in the series are listed under the original style, so I'll go along with that. There is a lot more bug than Scottish ale here though. I'm surprised by how much I liked this.
