Plum brown appearance with a light beige spare head, very little retention or lacing. Burgundy wine, oak, plum, dates, berries, lemon, basement funk. Moderate body, moderate to light carbonation, lingering finish, thought provoking.

On tap at Bullfrog Brewing in Williamsport, PA.
This one pours a reddish brown color, with a small white head, and not much lacing.
This smells like tart red wine, black cherry, red grape, malty sweetness, lemon, and prickly funk.
This is a cool blend for sure – the oud bruin dominates the color, and a lot of the taste itself too, with lots of dark fruit, and red wine like flavors. There’s some oak, lemon, a prickly and herbal sort of funk, and a high level of acidity. A lot of Bullfrog beers have high acidity levels, and this isn’t an exception, but it works well for this beer.
This has a soft body but lingering acidity, with still a pretty decent drinkability anyway.
Bullfrog’s best beers continue to be the ones in their sour program. I enjoyed this blend very much.
