Appearance:

Poured off draft into a standard pint glass, and when they delivered the glass to the table I was greeted with a half finger thick light tan colored head that hung around for quite a while. When I hold my pint glass up to the light it is crystal clear and is a beautiful amber, copper, almost light orange color with no haze. I gave a quick swirl and noticed the viscosity was pretty light, as a English Pale Ale should be.

Smell:

Light and busicuty, some bread undertones, earthy, mossy from the hops. Very herbal and slight salty mineral aroma which reminds me like saltine crackers. Clean and simple

Taste:

Very refreshing and dry! Loads of bread and caramel going on here. Dry and mineral like which is so simple but yet so complex. As it warms up some spice shines through, pepper, and thyme. A very long finish that is slightly hoppy and delicious.

A- pours a transparent light amber with a one finger white head. Praise the lord, a Bullfrog beer from the brewpub with a head! Unfortunately, it faded quickly after being brought to the table

S- mild hints of cinnamon in the nose. A little sweet. Actually, pretty interesting

T- a little boring. Mild hops, slight hints of bitterness. It's a pale ale though (an English one at that) and not an IPA, so expecting much more would be silly

M- not outstanding, but it really couldn't be improved very much. Pretty thin, but not watery

D- a solid pale ale. I've been getting into them a lot more lately, and this is one I'd like to try again

an easy style to pass up, but don't make that mistake...

a: served in a shaker pint, brilliant medium-copper in color, eggshell white head retains a coating layer with good lace

s: dry crackery malts with mild toffee sweetness, earthy hops bring pungent herbs and stale citrus rind, parsley, freshly milled grain, light fruits, rounded, very nice

m: carbonation on the lighter side of medium, body a dry, crisp, but satisfying light-medium

t: really a delicious english pale that brings a ton of character for such an ale, lots of grainy cracker, earthy minerals bring a nice roundness, lighter fruits, hops give a woody/herbal parsley/cilantro flavor, stale orange rind, just a quick push of sugar in the middle before swallowing as the hops push in, dry crisp finish, balancing bitter, surpasses any I've had of the style

d: delicious and drinkable, a great beer

A - Hazy coppery bronzed amber liquid with a finger's width of frothy off-white foam that settled to a quarter inch of retention and deposited plenty of sticky lacing around the glass.

S - Grainy and bready malt profile with light noble British hops, which impart a subtle grassy, herbal character to the aroma.

T - Herbal and grassy hop notes backed by sweet caramel and toffee malt as well as light bready and grainy notes. A tinge of spiciness emerges midway, followed by an herbal hop bite in the finish that is quelled by a light crackery malt aspect. Flavor is very well balanced.

M - Light bodied with moderate carbonation and a somewhat oily texture. Mouthfeel is a tad thin perhaps, but still pretty solid despite its lightness. Finishes bittersweet on the palate.

D - This is an easy-to-drink English style pale ale that is flavorful and has a pleasant hop character. This would be REALLY nice on nitro.
