On-Tap at the pub.

A- Susquehanna stout looks like a stout, it's black and has less than a inch of tan head on top, not much lacing on this.

S- Mainly of black malts and other varieties. Not much of a hop sense to this one but otherwise I got very light coffee and even lighter chocolate.

T- Tastes the same with a big focus on malts here with a some what slightly dark fruit taste coming through. The hops used give off just a touch of bitterness which is always welcome. Liking the coffee from this, light but it's there.

M- Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation. The malts is what you notice the most as it goes throughout the mouth.

D- Not sure of the abv on this but it could not be that high. I enjoyed this one but will not be going back to it.

On tap at the Bullfrog Brew Pub.

Poured a deep brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate and some coffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate, and coffee. Overall I found this one to be a little on the weaker side.

Had this stout at the bullfrog brewery on tap.

Appearance was comparable to Guinness, dark, nearly black body, with a tan head. The head was about one finger width and showed remarkable retention! Not much lacing on the glass, however.

The nose tells of malt and a toasty oat scent. Coffee is also present.

The reported abv in the menu for this stout was 6% or 6.2%, not 4.2% as this site indicates. This is supported by clearly present alcohols in the taste and slight warming after a sip. Coffee is prominent as well as hints of chocolate, malt, and oats.

Mouthfeel is a bit thinner than i expected, but not too bad regardless

Overall, this isn't the most balanced beer i've ever had, but still an enjoyable stout. A bit bitter, but if you take your coffee black, this stout's right up your ally!

I had this on tap at the brewpub.

Arrives as an opaque black with a 1/2 finger tan colored head which drops quickly to islands and a ring around the glass. Not much lacing.

The smell is the familiar sweet dark roasted coffee and burnt toffee, with some definitely present herbal/citrusy hops as well.

The flavor is clean, dark cofee, molasses, pretty noticeable hop bitterness, ripe oranges, and dark rum soaked raisins. Very pleasant dark fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is a rich malt sweetness which is washed away by a medium carbonation bite. Maybe very slight astringency.

I would love to have this on a nitro-tap. Still, this is one to have one after the other. Very smooth, and very drinkable.

A chewy good stout. Black with just a bit of head. Traditional coffee smell. Easy drink of roasted malt. Not a bad brew to be had here, though this was average for them. Nice moderate carbonation. Good at end of meal in place of regular coffee as digestive.

This beer poured into the glass a dark dark brown black color. The head was thick and creamy tan head. The lace was evident and plentyful to mid-end glass. The aroma was simple. Roasted malt, coffee, and some hops. The taste was like the Guinness Irish Dry Stout. Very similiar. Nice flavor that mirrors the aromas. Mostly roasted malt flavor that had some hoppy bitter and coffee in there but ended dry. Now that I think of it, it was much like the Susquehanna Stout that is served at Appalachian Brewing Co. Must be the water!.
