Deep mahogany with a light head that retains as a thin ring around the glass. Oakey vanilla and caramel notes on the nose. Complex flavor – spicy with some cloves and nutmeg, balanced by sweetness from the candy sugar and caramel, with some tartness and earthy barnyard notes. Medium body with light carbonation. A nice beer to sip and contemplate on a cold blustery winter’s night. The best of several beers I tried at the pub tonight.
