This is a pretty good Belgian ale. Nice bite to it from whatever yeast action is going on. Mildly sweet with a woody earthy thing barely in the mix. Somewhat rustic with a sweet Belgian tone. That's how I would classify this one. There is a yeasty thing going on that is kind of pungent on the palate. Reminds me of a Belgian ale I have had. Is this a clone of Gouden? If so, I am sure that is it. A nice one.

Thanks to tenderbranson69 for sharing this with JC and me. Enjoyed chilled in a snifter from the swintop growler.
The color is hazed burnished golden with thick white cream that settles to a thin head with tight bead. The smell is spiced, phenolic with a yeast ester that accents the malt with gentle hint of herbal hops and mild banana scent. The feel is full with highly carbonated and light bitterness with light alcohol on palate.
The flavor is good with spicey yeast flavor with mild malt and light fruit tinge wiht gently herbal hop taste and mild alcohol in the finish. The beer is mostly yeast flavored with some tropical fruit elements. Overall I enjoyed this - a pretty easy drinking Belgian Strong Pale considering the 11% abv
