"A dark and rich, yet dry and light bodied, Belgish dubbel style ale. Brewed with a small portion of dark malt, candy sugar and finished with French cocoa nibs."
On draft at the source, the brew pours a clear amber color with an off-white cap that is creamy and retains well.
The nose is mostly earthen and almost veggy-like. Some chocolate and quite a bit of must which is not that enjoyable. It is almost dusty smelling with a hint of fruit and caramel or toffee.
The flavor is earthy almost like green bell peppers. Like the nose, there is must and cocoa with some alcohol that gets progressively noticeable across the back.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. A bit of a trainwreck in character that is quite disjointed and not at all what you might expect based off the description of the brew.
