A - Poured an amber color witha a thin white head that leaves spoty lacing behind

S - Is pretty light some sweet malt

T- The taste is light too sweet caramel malt

M - This beer has a medium body with medium carbonation to it

D - Well this is a terribley average beer but for Two Rows that means it's pretty decent a safe choice from them

Sampler shot glass contains a beer with a body that is dark brown/red. Taste is a little flat with only slight carbonation. I can't get any aroma out of the sampler snifter. Very little flavor. Almost like water.

A: A dark reddish/brown color. A nice head and some lace.
S: Almost nothing in the nose. Just a bit of buttery malt and floral hops. Mostly just a watered down blah aroma. Disappointing.
T: Buttery malt again with a touch of hops. No depth at all. Just some water and grain basically.
M/D: As if everything else about this beer did not say "I am watered down." Maybe the thinest beer I have ever tried. Absolutely no body. This is not really hard to drink, but what is the point?

Don't bother with this beer. Two Row's makes some mediocre beers, and this worse than that.

I had this beer at the Dallas location. Wow, this beer is just flat out bad. It is dark, about the color of Shiner Bock but the comparisons end there. Very little head to speak of. The smell is very malty with a sour milk aroma. The taste is also sour and lingers with a blech soapy yuck taste. I hate that this beer is so lousy. Dallas needs a better brew pub. Or at least a brew pub with better beer.

This was the best, most well-balanced beer that I had at Two Rows. It wasn't mind-blowing, but I could envision myself having a couple during a sitting.

This beer was presented as an Amber Ale, whereas this site has it listed as an English Brown Ale. I would say the maltiness was pretty much in line with an Amber, and the hops, while not overly assertive, were more in keeping with the American Amber sytle than an English Brown.

Very dark beer for an "amber". Nearly opaque reddish-brown beer. Small head, though the lacing on the glass is good. Malty sweet aroma, and caramel-malt dominates the flavor, with some bitterness but very low hop flavor. Esters are restrained. Clean, uncomplicated beer, typical of what finds in generic brewpubs.

Route 66 Amber was the better of the two beers I tried at Two Rows tonight. Appearance was a nice dark amber color, with moderate head. Smell was of sweet malt mainly, very enjoyable. Taste started with nice hops bite and finished with sweet, roasted malt. For a semi-heavy beer I feel as though I could drink a lot fo these without growing bored or full.

First off, I think Two Rows Greenville Ave does an overall great job with their beers. You just can't beat a $2 pint. And to think it used to be $1. This amber looks great and is tasty with a lot of hop in the nose and finish. The menu says they make the beer using a bunch of different malts, but hops prevail, and lead to a somewhat astringent mouthfeel. There is mysterious sweetness underneath, but bitter hops keep it buried.

This Micro is decent enough. But I think they have a tendency to go to heavy on the hops to malt ratios and that they go to serve the beer to soon. Over all the beer looks great and smells great. It just lacks in finish and taste sometimes. The hops are very good but there is a bitter aftertaste. One note for the flavor hear is the smokey undertones. I really like this the most out of all the brews I have had there. I think it just needs a little more conditioning.

Pours a light brownish amber color with a very thin white head that immediately fades into a trace amount of lace. Nose is very faint bitter hops. Taste is slightly sweet at first but is dominated by a sour bitter hop flavor. I did not enjoy this beer.
