A middle of the road red ale brewed off-site for this "brewery".
Appropriate red/amber color with a short-lived light tan head.
Smell is roast malt and caramel, some wood and floral notes.
Taste is .... average. Malt, lightly roasted, caramel, floral and bread notes. Balance is good.
Medium bodied, almost. Lighter than expected carbonation. Nothing bad, nothing great, easily quaffable in quantity so it's good for a beach location such as this.

This beer was presented to me as a sixer by a friend when he returned from Florida. The following information was on the label. "Brewed and bottles especially for the Smokin' Oyster Brewery, Fort Myers Beach, Fl, by The Indian River Beverage Corp., Melbourne, FL".
This beer was poured into an imperial pint glass at 45° with a 1 ½ finger foamy head. There was a nice lacing effect as the head dissipated. The beer was amber colored with a slight orange tint and clear.
The aroma was yeasty and a little fruity.
Taste was slightly sharp with an apple cider appeal. There was a bit of graininess in the background from the malt.
A bit of the tartness attributed to the apple taste seemed to bounce around in the mouth. It lasted the longest in the top of the mouth and on the tip of the tongue.
Although this beer is somewhat cider saturated in taste I would like to try it on tap. Maybe on my first trip to Florida.

Served in bottles at Smoken' Oyster's on Ft Myers Beach.
I went up to the bar to request a glass to pour it into and they gave me a plastic cup.
This beer actually tastes like beer which is a laarge step up from most places around southwest FL. Nice amber color with a white headskie. Malt flavors are there and a faint hopping is detected. Nothing special, but not terrible either.
