a very simple golden ale, a little amateurish to me, kind of flat in feel which isnt the texture i look for in a light ale like this, and a touch soapy on the fermentation, which cant possibly be intentional. that said, its not boring, and i prefer flavorful to dull, so thats a plus, and you cant beat the prices in here, i must have caught happy hour or something, but a couple of beers wasnt going to get me to the credit card minimum, if they had one, tough to beat that! its clear but doesnt hold much head, even though there are some big sized bubbles clinging to the edges of the glass. it smells and tastes a tad metallic to me, but earthy and malty too for such a light brew, some light lime from the hops, no real bitterness, but there is a presence, and off dry overall, with a slight ester at the end. not bad, but not overly well refined either. drinkable as something light, but i want it to be cleaner than it is. neither of the two beers i had time for in here were particularly impressive, but i love the taproom, the aquarium behind the bar is amazing, and even though the beers werent amazing in my experience, the vibe of the place was, a neat little small town treasure here!
