Best beer ever! If you like lime and you like hot this is your beer. I read they might bring it back in 2021 so excited! Hope they do! Nothing better then an ice cold hot beer.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, best before 7/4/2017. Removed the pepper first. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to nothing eventually. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big chili peppers, and skin/seeds; with lighter notes of cracker, corn, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with peppers and light pale malt/corn notes; with great strength. Taste of big chili peppers, and skin/seeds; with lighter notes of cracker, corn, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Moderately pepper spiciness and light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of big chili peppers, skin/seeds light cracker/corn/white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of peppers and light pale malt/corn flavors; with a solid malt/spiciness balance, and minimal astringent pepper flavors after the finish. Very clean lagering; no fruity/yeasty notes. Moderate increasing dryness from pepper spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly grainy mouthfeel that is good. A bit thin, but not watery. Big lingering pepper heat through the glass, but not unbearable. Overall this is a pretty good chili lager. All around good robustness of peppers and light pale malt/corn flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink, despite the aggressively spicy/drying pepper finish. Flavorful for the low ABV from the peppers. Nothing bad about it, I already knew what I was getting into. Big peppers with a side of adjunct lager. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured from 11.2-ounce bottle into a vintage Blatz glass. Crystal-clear pale yellow colored body. Started out with a couple of fingers of white head that rapidly settled without a trace. Although the aroma and flavor of the chili is dominant (think pepperoncini), the base beer is quite good, with bready malts and floral notes coming through on the nose and palate. Decent body, good carbonation. Very prominent chili heat that makes the mouth and lips tingle. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. If you like a little heat with your beer, give this one a shot,

Oh boy. Here we go...

BOTTLE: Clear glass (ugh). Branded yellow twist-off crown cap. 11.2 fl oz format. $1.79 at a Total Wine & More in Austin, TX.

4.6% ABV. "Premium lager beer with a chili pepper added."

Okay, so there's literally a chili pepper floating in my bottle. I don't think that's a good sign; it calls to mind the snake liquors I'd see in Vietnam in which there was literally a baby snake bottled with the spirit. Can this end well?

APPEARANCE: Clear pale yellow-copper body. Fizzy thin off-white head. Head retention is ~2 minutes.

AROMA: Obvious overt chili pepper. Also a vinegary pickly aroma as of preserved chilis. That's really all I get; I mean I assume there's 6-row barley in there too but the chili aroma eclipses it. Heat does seem moderate; I'm anticipating maybe a 5/10 intensity in terms of chili heat.

Aromatic intensity is somewhat high.

Lacks any hoppy, malty, or yeasty notes.

TASTE: Chili pepper flavour is dominant. Concomitant chili heat is present, of course. It's not aggressively hot - maybe a 5-6/10 in terms of heat. It doesn't necessitate a second beverage to quash the heat. 6-row or 2-row malted barley gives this its backbone. There're no hoppy or yeasty notes, nor is any specialty malt evident.

I find it rather balanced, to be honest. The kind of beer that would pair well with pizza. There are no off-flavours and it's pretty approachable for a chili beer.

TEXTURE: Not unrefreshing, actually, but certainly tingly and spicy. Smooth, wet, light-bodied, overcarbonated. Not oily, gushed, booze, astringent, or scratchy.

OVERALL: I have to be honest - I expected a trainwreck of a chili beer but this is rather solid. It delivers in terms of style convention and isn't undrinkably hot. I'd happily enjoy a pitcher of this over greasy cheese pizza with friends and I wouldn't mind revisiting it when in the admittedly rare mood for the style. By no means a bad brew, though not one I'd recommend to friends per se. Well worth trying in any case, though Americans will find it pricey for a Mexican import.

This beer is exactly what it is advertised as. A cheap American style lager with a chili pepper floating in it. Tastes wonderful in six pack quantities on hot days. Has a nice kick. Corona with lime pales in comparison! I love it, forget the lime.

330 ml clear bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 4.2%. Pale golden colour, minimal head. Aroma of green chilies and green peppers / other uncooked vegetables, not very inviting. The flavour has a solid chili burn from start to finish, no sign of anything else (like malts and hops). Really hot chili burn in the aftertaste. Oh dear. Glad I did not finish a whole bottle of this.
