Foggy Day IPA is North Coast Brewing’s interpretation of an increasingly popular sub-style of IPA. These beers are unfiltered and utilize heavy doses of citrus-forward hops. High-protein cereals in the grist such as oats and raw wheat create haziness in the beer and add silky texture to the mouthfeel.

Picked up a 12 oz single bottle at the NCBC Gift Shop 3-7-26 for $3.00. Bottled 8-15-25; consumed 3-9-26.
.
Beer poured hazy orange with a nice white head with the original pour.
Nose is tropical and citrus fruits.
Taste is old mango and orange up front and finishes sweet on the back end; 4/10 on my bitterness scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and soft.
Overall, i can see this could be pretty good fresh. Shame on me for buying an old bottle and shame on North Coast for offering such.

Pours golden yellow hazy with white foamy cap in large stein at Ludwigs Biergarten Mountain View. Bright citrus hoppy notes with hearty oats and raw wheat malty base makes for a nice addition to this North Coast brew. Great New England IPA at 6% ABV and 55 IBU from one of my favorite breweries North Coast Brewing Co in Fort Bragg CA (gold standard Imperial stout).

North Coast Brewing Co. "Foggy Day IPA"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle; date coding is illegible.
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: A very hazy but not cloudy golden body is capped by a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is fruity, biscuity-malty, and piney/grassy. There are notes of citrusy and otherwise tropical fruits including peach. The flavor follows with a wider, wheaty maltiness and more fruitiness including berries, apricot, orange, melon, and pineapple. A solid bitterness balances it and it finishes piney and herbal with some residual fading fruitiness. The mouthfeel is medium and smooth. All around it's nicely balanced and rounded with a good hop kick but not one of the greatest of all time.

12oz bottle. Date stamp on label reads '31191003'.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Quick to leave one finger of white head. Leaves behind some webs of lacing.
Aroma of overripe citrus fruits, especially naval orange.
Taste is initially quite sugar sweet and then evolves into a complex citrus fruit mix of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine. Also some pineapple and mango. Quick fade in the aftertaste, with a bit of pine resin.
Very soft and silky mouth feel. Very low bitterness. Very good carbonation.
Standout aspect is the mouth feel. Flavors are pleasant but short lived, which makes it easier to have more than one during a session.

A semi-gusher that pours a hazed honey color with 2+ fingers of billowy cream colored head. Good head retention & lacing
S: Grassy, bready
T: Follows the nose, a touch caramel, leafy & woody hops, plus dryness up front & a touch of tangerine. Grassyness, woodyness, dryness & a little tangerine as this warms. Finishes dry, woody with a little leafy hop & hints of citrus
MF: Medium body. slight carbonation, okay balance
Doesn't taste much like a hazy & no freshness dating whatsoever, solid miss. Had this many weeks ago & it tasted just like this, an IPA from the early 90s

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours slightly hazy golden amber with a frothy cream whitehead that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Mix of citrus, tropical, and stone fruit, a touch of pine, a bit grassy, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Tropical and stone fruit, mango, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, and a hint of guava, some citrus, orange, lime, and lemon, faint grassy herbal notes, light pine, a touch of spice, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, somewhat soft on the palate.
O: There's a faint minerality that gives it an ever so slight rough edge on some sips, though by no means is it a deal breaker. I do wish they gave more info on what hops they used ( pretty sure Citra is one of them). While I wouldn't go out of my way to try it, it's a very solid entry into the style for North Coast and at 6% it is a nice lower ABV hoppy option to fill a cooler.
