Bought at a Supermarket in Olomouc (Moravia, Czech Republic). Half liter poured into a mug.
-Pours a small foam head of 1 mm. Dark brown opaque color. Carbonation present but not seen.
-Hints of mint. Cereal also.
-Caramel taste.
-Sweet after taste. Very slightly crispy.

It is a good Vienna Lager. I like the style (therefore not very objective) and this is a good example from the Czech Republic.

"Platan 11 degrees."Bottle fill (sort of a growler but with a disposable bottle) served into stemware. Cost was 2.50 euro for a litre. 460% ABV.

HEAD: ~2cm wide. White colour. Somewhat frothy. Consistency is a bit weak, lacking robust thickness or fullness. Retention is average - ~2 minutes. Leaves no lacing as it recedes.

BODY: Clear copper of average vibrance. Clean, without any visible yeast particulate.

Appears well-carbonated. It's an average appearance.

AROMA: Malty sweetness from pale and (cara?)Munich malts. Generic floral hop character. That's it.

Aromatic intensity is average.

TASTE: Follows the aroma, with maybe some crystal malt thrown in. Simple, straightforward, and without subtlety or nuance. Yeast profile is clean and ester-free, suggesting lager saccharomyces pastorianus utilization and concomitant attenuation.

Cohesive, but not gestalt. Unbalanced, but not imbalanced per se. It's just plain; there's no obvious intention or direction here.

TEXTURE: Overcarbonated. Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, unrefreshing. Very run-of-the-mill, failing to elevate the beer as a whole or to accentuate specific notes from the flavour profile.

OVERALL: A shrug of a lager. Drinks clean, has some flavour, and will render one intoxicated. Unremarkable, and frankly rather forgettable. I'd buy it again if my only interest was inebriation, but discerning drinkers will be unimpressed.

Served cool from 500ml brown bottle into pilsner mug.

L) Attractive mid-copper colour, clear, thin white head, medium carbonation evident.

S) Distinctly sweet malt; hint of fudge. Different. More like an English ale than a Czech lager.

T) Again with the English ale. Mild mellow malt, not sweet at all as the nose suggested. Little to no bitterness. Pleasant but very subtle nutty undertaste. Overall, well balanced and well judged. Nothing stands out, it just all works together.

F) A bit denser than the average Czech lager. Carbonation is spot on as ever.

O) I have had a lot of bottled Czech lagers recently and this is one of the best. Most of the positive attributes of Czech beers, and none of the negative attributes.

Huge thanks to Melissa for bringing this back from the Czech Republic.

Copper / Amber body with a small head. Sweet fruity aroma, with perhaps a note of jam. Caramel malt and brown bread with a nice earthy character. Mild sweetness. Good drinkability. What a cool experience.

Pours clear copper beer with typical for the brewery 2-finger beige head. Malts, molasses, plum jam in aroma. Rather smooth taste of malts, caramel, prunes with moderate toastiness. Medium body, medium to intense carbonation. Excellent czech amber lager.

Light amber to coppery body with good clarity, overlain by thick, extremely stable off white head that hangs on the walls with each swirl. Perfect appearance. Aroma is moderately rich malt & caramel sweetness and toast-like indicating usage of Vienna/Munich malt, with herbal and lightly spicy hops in the background and evident diacetyl. Lightly toasted and buttery on the palate, with light malt & caramel sweetness counterbalanced by hop bitterness. The finish is dry with lingering hop bitterness and faint noble hop spiciness.
Medium-light bodied with moderate yet delicate carbonation, creamy mouthfeel with palate-coating buttery smoothness.
The beer lacks fruity esters and roasted notes as it should be, but there is a clear presence of diacetyl which is inappropriate for a lager and reduces the score. (500 ml bottle, BB date 27. September 2011, into mug.)
