Pour is much darker than I anticipated for some reason: almost a cola black with dark cherry light creeping at the edges when held up. Nice off white head that sits and sits before finally receding to a decent crown with soapy serfdoms across the field.
Nose carries a dark bread maltiness and some careful nuttiness. Clean. Opens up nicely as it warms, rounding out and gaining depth.
Flavour begins really nice with a fresh clean malty nutty build. Indiscriminate malts with minimal bitterness even through the finish.
Smoothe and clean and very drinkable, this is just a really tasty brown ale. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but this is a really enjoyable brown for me.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a dark reddish brown with ruby tint and a half finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark biscuit malt, nuts and very faint dark stone fruit.Flavor is dark biscuit malt with a little toast and a little char, nuts, light malted milk ball; finishes with light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A spot on to style brown ale with attention to some light hops in the finish. These malty dark ales are Iron Horse's area fo expertise and this is another good one. This is the local brewery I come to when I need a malty fix.

I bought this in a bottle recently but poured into a glass before drinking. Look is a dark copper brown. Smells good, mostly malty and nutty aromas. Mouthfeel is very pleasant, a very frothy and smooth feel for a brown ale. The taste is very malty and quite enjoyable. I have had iron horse brewery beers before but was not too impressed. This beer was really great and I will definitely buy again soon. Even to people who don't usually drink brown ales I highly reccomend this
