Poured from 16oz can into a tulip.
Appearance: rich amber hue with a moderate haze. Head is a thin layer of ivory foam despite a rather violent pour. Color is great; head could use some work.
Smell: well, it certainly smells like an overwrought sticky English dessert -- by that standard, it's as-advertised. I like the earl grey and apricot, but it's a bit sweet and sticky for my taste.
Taste: wow, the taste really follows through on the aroma. Big apricot right up front, and a nice finish of earl grey. It's not bad, but it's hard to think of this as beer.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent stickiness and a good level of carbonation. I'm a little on the fence on this one, but I'm gonna give it the benefit of the doubt here. Good.
Overall: this beer may not be to-style. It may not be to my taste. However, it is one of the most accurate-to-its-label beers I've had in a long time. Earl grey? Check. Apricot? Check. Grandma? Check. Great effort!

definitely the best beer i have had from these guys so far, a real unsuspecting english pale ale with earl grey tea and apricots in it, both of which really make this unique. this beer is a triumph, a total success and something truly one of a kind, maybe a perfect base beer for tea too, which seems to be a more and more popular ingredient but doesnt always integrate this well. the beer is a medium rusty orange color to it and a high white head from the tap, active looking and smelling super fresh, with the sort of old school bitter hops more robust than expected, and some herbal bitterness from the tea also obvious. there is a light lavender sort of floral note to the tea, a grassy bite to the hops, and a sweetness from the apricots, concentrated, like they are dried not fresh, and it all comes together super well. the tea is pretty prominent in here, well in front of the apricot, but they combine super well together, and this is both summery and autumnal at the same time. i love the english pale as a base, the hops are classic and the yeast is noticeable, the crystal malt also holds up the apricot nicely, its a great mix of flavors. this is remarkably dry by the end, very well carbonated, and overall majorly layered, flavorful, and well made. impressive to say the least, and by far my favorite iron horse beer to date! i need some more of this!
