Maeve’s Mosaic Fresh Hop Pale Ale

a little bit generic in my opinion, and as much as its obviously mosaic hops, the rest of the beer falls a little flat for me, nice as it tastes and all with the wet hops, its kind of light, even dumbed down seeming to me, especially during a couple day period where i had so many more robust and compelling wet hopped beers, this just seemed subtle and samey to me, but there is nothing wrong with it, not at all, perhaps its just that its a pale and not an ipa that it seems a little safe, i dont know. its a drinker though, and was nice with my duck fat fried tacos, the perfect beer for that sort of greasy spicy meal. the mosaic is full of citrus here, a little green oiliness, and some crystal malt beefing it up and balancing the light hop bite this has. less pineapple than it sometimes has, but none of the cat pee thing either, a get a little orange candy, some high end weed, and even a mango note or something pulpy and tropical. a little more grain here than it needs, its almost overbalanced, but the flavors are fresh and good and its a nice side of mosaic hops, even if its a little tame compared to the best wet hopped beers ive had this fall. i continue to enjoy just about all the beers iron horse makes, even when the recipes are understated the execution is excellent, and thats the case here.
