Citra and Azacca hops are baled together with unmalted wheat and oats, giving this beer crop a sweet, citrus flavor and hazy-like appearance

I've had this can for a while, BOD. 11/2/22. Pours a hazy golden color with a large creamy head (due to aging) and a fair amount of lacing. It has some creamy mouthfeel. The aroma is bread & grains and melon with slight tropical fruit. I think the aging has changed the hop taste as it is quite smooth & mellow. Rated 12-15-2023

Almost totally clear amber brew with adequate foam in the tulip. This is actually quite aromatic but a baffling scent like pencil shavings and cement floors. Flavor is Indian rose water, with some orange peel, sort of. Finishes with a modest bitterness and the herbal echoes of another world.
Well, this tastes funny and like no IPA I can think of. But it's not actually bad and it's an interesting puzzle. From the 12 oz can purchased at the beer store. No date though a code on the label might be deciphered. If it's a Julian date it would make this quite elderly.

12oz can (no date) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a muddy orange color with 1/4 inch of white head that immediately dissipated and had no lacing.
The aroma had frooty and citrus hops at the front with no appreciable amount of grain showing up.
Similar on the tongue, with the addition of a bit of unpleasant bitterness at the back.
The body was the typical thin of the style, a wee bit coarse across and at the back of the palate, and had a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was OK, but the beer was so bland, why bother?
Overall, nothing really "wrong" with the beer, but it is less than the sum of its parts.

always nice to see new flavors from these guys, sometimes it feels like the same old stuff over and over again. this is an interesting hazy in that the hop profile is somewhat generic, there is more bitterness than the typical dry hop leanings of the style, and i can taste the grain as well as feel it, this seems more balanced than most, almost more in the pale ale range, definitely oats and wheat present along with the pale barley, but its not just a starchy body thing, its this deeply earthy harvesty vibe, rustic breadiness without it being sweet at all, i taste the malts as much as the hops, which have some citra up front and the azacca in the back, spicy and green and fresh without having a bite, just some needed finishing bitterness but this is pretty clean. hay and straw and wild grasses in the foundation, some protein too, and then the leafy hops with meyer lemon, juniper, and orange peel notes as it winds down, i like the back and forth between the elements, the clean ferment, and the intensity of flavor, but ive never loved azacca hops and they define the back half of this. also there is something a little heavy about it, not as drinkable as it could be or that the balance would invite, and there is a little tidying up to do. i like it for being different and featuring the grain in a unique way in the flavor though, and i appreciate them rolling out a new one.
