L - Looks like coke, can't see light through it. Not much head but it had been in my bars keg for a while.
S - Smell isn't atorng but you do get cinnamon.
T - The flavor is good. Nutmeg and cinnamon and bits of chicory.
F - the feel leaves to be desired for me, more like a soda that's been left out than a strong ale, like I said it had been in my bars keg for a while.
Great flavor easy drinking for what it is. Would recommend people try it considering the interesting flavor profile.

6oz can from Hops & Bottles. Near black pour, fizzy beige head, then flat. Aroma us mostly cinnamon, light chocolate. Taste is also driven by the cinnamon, sweet, dark chocolate notes, light bitterness. Light peppery and savory accents also.

it appears these guys are going to ride this train into oblivion, here is yet another variant on this brew. this time done with all the trendy stuff, is it me or are the more mexican chocolate beers this year than ever?! its solid, but thats more because the base beer is good than because the additives really make it special. i get light smoke this time, maybe from chili peppers, maybe from the grain, a warming spice profile including cinnamon, a richness that carries some generic malt sweetness and vanilla notes, and then the chocolate, which is bittersweet and less obvious than all the other elements interestingly enough. if i had this ten years ago i might be more excited about it, but there are just so many beers doing the same thing right now that only the really special ones stand out, and i wouldnt elevate this to that level. i like that the beer remains pretty dry on the finish, thats a nice feature, and that the chocolate brings some balancing bitterness. its not over spiced, but all the elements can be appreciated. smooth and not real heavy in body as this sort of thing going, this base beer seems well suited to this treatment. i am admittedly fatigued of these right now, but this is well done for what it is and just a little different with the base beer. good proportions, definitely festive, should do well for them. i like that its not too strong as well...
