On tap at Munchen Haus in Leavenworth. Poured to a standard pint glass (notes from 8/12/11):

A - Poured a cloudy opaque brown with hints of orange, 1/2-finger off-white small bubble head, a little bit of retnetion, and barely any lacing.

S - Chocolatey dark malt tsunami to start, followed by a strong grainy/barley scent. Moderately strong malt throughout.

T - Starts sweet, with barley and a little dark chocolate, then a mild bitterness of unsweetened chocolate takes over, and ends with sweet green apple and watermelon splashes over the top of the dark malt and bitterness. Malt and bitterness in the aftertaste.

M - Medium body, but still a bit watery. Sizzly carbonation at the middle and back of the tongue. Bitterness also hits the back of the tongue.

D - Pretty decent. I found it too sweet at first, and the bitterness didn't come to the rescue quite soon enough in the flavor profile. But as it warmed up, the finishing balance started to find itself sooner, and I found myself appreciating it more.

It's an interesting flavor, and was great with a bratwurst. As a sidenote, the sauerkraut on the brat is what kicked off the watermelon at the back end of the flavor profile.

Appearance is a dark brown ale with an off white head and fair lace. Smell is sweet, malty with dark fruits mixed in. Taste does have big malt, lightly roasted and a little sweet with a good balance of hops with a note of dry tangy salinity in the end. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Not well rounded, needs a little smoothing out, but not bad.

On tap at the iron horse micropub.

A a nice brownish red color

S a nice malty smell with a hint of fruit.

T very clean and malty with a hint of fruit and roast. However when it warms, alcohol really starts to come out.

M pretty smooth goes down easily very drinkable.

Overall a good brown ale, it is tasty and drinkable and worth having, just don't expect anything spectacular.
