Finnegans Brew Co.

 

Looks like I got to this place about a month before its shut down. The brewery merged. Downtown, street parking and or parking garages. A long room with a long bar. It was dimly lit. There's a patio out back. Fairly spacious, can accommodate a lot of people,16 taps, great tasting beer and other Bev's. Service was ok but nobody seemed happy. Could have been because they had credit card transaction troubles due to a nationwide IT outage. So, they were a cash-only bar that day. I'm sure Finnegan's had some massive parties there after sports games, arena concerts, and the like. I enjoyed my experience there.

Wow some money went into this place, sneaky huge! Combines classic irish stylings with the modern, sharp. Beer is solid with an obvious emphasis on the old country. However there are a lot of taps taken up by tredny ipa attempts and seltzer, so that's annoying. The service was speedy and helpful, place was packed so not a lot for chit chat but they seemed to know their stuff. This place would be a blast on the most holy of days, St. Patrick's day

 

Visited on a Friday afternoon with my dad, uncle, brother, and brother-in-law. Wait, not my brother - we picked him up from the airport later in the day. Regardless, a good group of guys. It was not very busy and the bartenders were very helpful (first day for one of them). Somewhat dark ambiance, but nice variety of seating. We sat in a couch and easy chairs around a coffee table. Wide selection and not focused on any particular style. I got a flight of four 5-oz pours (grisette, Baltic porter, American stout, and dunkelweizen), and all the beers were very tasty. If I'm in the neighborhood in the future I'd be happy to return to Finnegans.

On a newly built 4 square block surrendered by Kraus Anderson ,HQ Apartments ,Elliott Park Hotel,and Tavola. Beautiful inside with tanks and barrels visible. An open bar area with plenty of seats, outside has a seating area that is surrounded by buildings it very cool and shady in summer. Food trucks do come by, its within walking distance to US Bank Stadium and The Armory. Brews are well executed and are available in 10,oz pint or growlers

 

The location is great just 5 short blocks from US Bank Stadium, 15 tap lines that change regularly, huge patio, barrel aging program, friendly staff, growlers to go, warm inviting Irish pub feel to the taproom. You will an amazing time and if it is too amazing there is a hotel connected to the brewery.
