Extremely pleasant surprise from northern WI. Pours a dark amber, hoppy and delicious and well balanced. If you see it buy it!

Picked up a single of this across the border in Hudson, WI, because rye. Do I need another reason? 16 oz. can split with my wife.
The pour is a clear light orange with a swirly, psychedelic film of bubble perched on top. The nose brings a pretty decent mix of pine & caramel, with peppery rye only a suggestion.
Angry Minnow Rye IPA seems only slightly agitated. The rye is up front but light, but the peppery spice has the staying power of a five chili green curry. Mid-palate brings a lot of caramel malt & dry orange, simple pine, moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is drought dry. I could see drinking this mindlessly while engaged in another, more interesting activity.
This is a stew of mild, gentle flavors that seem designed not to offend. Gimme a beer spewing expletives & throwing elbows any time. Pretty good brew.

So glad The Angry Minnow now offers this as a regular rather than a seasonal both on tap and in cans. There are so few good ryes available throughout the year..
