On cask at the GBBF.

Pours chocolate black with no head. Chocolate, vanilla bean and caramelized sugar nose. Earthy, port barrel, sour currant and kola malts with a roasty bite and some musty, followed by tea, tobacco and bark hops. Strawberry kick to the finish. Thin to medium, chewy, and a mild finish.

Not what I expected from a mild - surprised by some notes I'd associate with Old Ale - but that could say more about me than the beer.

Definitely some interesting flavors and it did go on to win a medal...

At the Marquis of Granby at Granby! ( but an old friend from many other outlets too)
This is everything I want from a mild , a lovely dark rich brew which is satisfying as well as thirst quenching. It's a beautifully balanced brew which illustrates how mild ought to be in the mainstream of beers in this country.
It's true to say than I have enjoyed all Nottingham Brewery's offerings.

Just a good, old fashioned, (very) dark mild thirst-quencher, of the kind you didn't think they made any longer. Smooth and dark with a big foamy head. Not unlike Bateman's DM, but a little stronger-tasting. Frankly, I think it's a belter. If you like dark mild, you'll love this.
