Uneven fat head of froth dries all over the glass, like a cappucino. Brown bodied brew, not dark enough to not let light through.
Nose doesn't really yell chocolate, or coffee for that matter. Sweet, rich malts exude, light and round.
Taste, too is rich and malty, with some light chocolate notes and some residual cacao bitterness. Body is creamy, with a soft bubble feel that made me think, "Light salt cream and bitter cacao" -- a nice combo. A smokey carbon after, much like Ogawa's IPA.
I didn't want to call this a Porter or a Stout. It's much more like a british bitter, for its mellowness and mildness. Good beer.
