(Served in a snifter)
On the chalkboard it was labeled Old Dog Cru
A- This beer has a warm brown dense body with a thick tan head that last a good bit. It was too dense to see any carbonation.
S- The smell of cloves and dry wood with a horehound candy note. As the beer warmed there were notes of cough syrup and ginseng that smelled a bit medicinal.
T- The taste of soft brown malt was just a hair more sweet than dry with a clove note a dry nutmeg and wood note to it. As the beer warmed the medicinal flavor to the spices came through stronger and was very unpleasant. The finish was a bit of a peppery spice lingering on the tongue.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a tight fizz in the finish.
D- The strongest taste in this beer was the medicinal flavors and some off spice notes. They increased when it got warm and it was difficult to drink. The malt flavors were buried and really overpowered by the spices. One glass is all I could make it through.

This was listed as a Grand Cru at the brew pub, the bartender described it as sour, hoppy, and spicy. The beer had a cloudy orange color with an off white head in a tulip glass. The smell had cloves, bannana, and a hint of piney hops. The taste had a good sour fruit at first then a huge hit of the hops and the cloves finish it off. The mouthfeel was slightly thick yet refreshing. It went went great with the Provencal mussels
