I had never dreamed of an Imperial Wit before. I saw this on the menu, and knew I had to try it.
A - A light straw color, cloudy. Nice rocky white head that laced the glass.
S - Citrus, fruity esters, some hop aroma. To be perfectly honest, I was too excited to taste it to give the aroma the appreciation it deserved.
T - Everything you love about a wit, but more. The only downside I had with it was that the alcohol was noticable. I don't know what the abv was, but given that it was labeled "imperial," I would guess that it was rather high, and it was present in the flavor. But it wasn't unpleasant. I had my mom try it, and she'd never had a wit, and didn't know what it was, and immediately detected the citrus flavors and aroma. Very nice.
M - Light-medium body, excellent carbonation. Clean finish. Again, the alcohol played up here a bit, as well, giving it something of a "hot" aftertaste.
D - This is a very drinkable beer. I don't know if Ted had this in mind when he brewed it, but my feeling about it is that it's perfect to get that wit experience during the colder weather. It was really a warming, pleasant beer, with all the crisp, somewhat delicate characteristics you expect from a wit.
Extra credit for experimenting with something I, at least, had never heard of or considered. Another quality brew from the Brugge.
