Spider is a dark sour brew aged in Cabernet wine barrels with lots of chocolate and roasted malts.

Had on tap at the Brugge restaurant. According to our waitress, this is only available seasonally. It was specifically listed as Spider 13.
A: a purpley-red, almost cranberry/grape juice colored beer, but lighter. Looks good, but very different
S: pick up the clear fruits in this sour ale
T: sour, with the rich taste of deep colored fruits, and enough hops to make this clearly beer and not juice.
M: actually fairly light, easy, and pleasant. My favorite of the ones I had there.
O: I tried three beers there, the black, tripel, and this, and this one was easily my favorite. Very good if you're looking for something different.

According to Brugge they've never brewed a beer named Spider, only Spider King. The abv on this one is 8.5% and is being tapped for Sour Night at Brugge. It arrived a dark hazelnut brown with ruby highlights. It smells of somewhat roasted dark malts with only a slight sourness. The taste is of pure sour and its hard to find the complexities. It's on the verge of having some vinegar to it. It's a strange beer and kind of rough around the edges. The flavor profile is tough to break down. It's in your face. It's a sipper bc its really intriguing. This isn't their best but it might be their most sour.

Draft. On tap at Great Taste of the Midwest. Got this one after it was suggested by some friends drinking it. Wasn't listed on their tap list but ask for it by name and they gave it to you. Poured a rust hued dark brown with very little head to speak of. Heavy notes of acetone and nailpolish in the nose. The taste is pretty much nothing but nailpolish. No balance at all to really speak of. In my opinion this one is just way too much one sided with the acetone flavors totally dominating the flavor. Didn't pick up really any of the chocolate and roasted malts from the description. Light mouthfeel. Glad I only had a couple oz pour as I think any more and my teeth would have disintegrated.
