Looking at the menu and seeing Buck Light as one of the Buckhead Breweries staple brews, I grimaced. Light beer, yuck. The only reason I even bothered to try it is because it came as part of the sampler. I'm afraid to say that I'm glad I did. It really surprised me. Even after I got the beer, I had really low expectations. Extremely pale (described as "straw" on the menu) it had very little in the way of appearance or aroma, but the first sip proved surprisingly flavorful. It was actually quite malty although very little if an hop presence. They may have used wheat in the mash, because the flavor was similar to that of many of the american filtered wheat beers I've had. This has very little compelxity and could never match a good not-light beer, but it's quite possibly the greatest light beer ever made.
