Brewed exclusively for the shop at the 'Falkirk Wheel'. Might also be sold under the name Tryst Drovers 80/- elsewhere (and in casks).
500ml bottle conditioned: BBD Sep 2013, poured slowly into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 25 July 2013.
Lovely looking beer: deep ruby/brown with a huge lightly tanned head on top.
Malty smell and taste: crisp and sharp also, this is a complex brew. Roasted malts leap out the glass into your nose, semi-sweet and almost chocolatey in nature. Yeast notes appear as the beer warms a little, adding complexity and interest to the aroma.
The taste is a malt led with a blend of tangy hops below the surface giving a wonderful full feel, a yeasty taste also aids the overall flavourings to produce a truly pleasant dark beer.
