Ah the Bruckmüller Brewery spent alot of time here 1994-2002 when I was in the Army near here. It is a really nice oldschool place. Has a great taproom and resturant. In the courtyard is a beergarden of the oldschool. Food and very good northern Bavarian style. A must stop in Amberg.

I go with my wife here for dinner and a beer or two at least once or twice a month.

The brewery, beer garden, restaurant and the bottling are all mostly within the old Franciscan Kloster (monestary), which started brewering beer here at the same location in 1490.

The inside is pretty typical for a Bavarian eating establishment, a bench that runs the length of the walls, long tables that seat 4-8 persons.

Service is very friendly and speaks English and was pateint with our attempts at speaking in German while ordering our food.

Wednesday nights are Pork Knuckel night, which shouldn't be missed, and can also recomment the onion grilled beef-roast, and the Goose breast was absolutely fantastic.

The entire beer line-up is all available on Tap (Fass), as well as glasses.

Dinner for two with a few beers generally runs about 30 Euro.

Definately a must-see while in Amberg!

The Bruckmuller Brewery Tap is adjacent to the Brewery itself, and has several traditional furnished rooms and a central open courtyard as a pleasant beer garden.

Apparently, the building was previously a Monastary, and I think there are also Hotel Rooms available too.

The beers available at time of visit were Bruckmuller Keller Beer, Falken Weiss and Hells, all on tap.Several bottled beers available too. The Keller beer was fairly good, darkish colour though light in texture - typical keller style more malt than hops, but enjoyable. The Falken Weiss beer was very good, not as dry as some, but good balance and very drinkable. The brewery tap and beer garden were quiet at the time of our visit - a Thursday mid-day, only about a dozen other people there, but service polite and friendly (though not much English spoken)

Food menu looked good and from what we could see also looked worth having. There was a salad buffet in one of the rooms off the beer garden courtyard.

Definately recommended for a visit when in the wonderful little town of Amberg.
