Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create an almost opaque, wonderfully silky and smooth textured ale with a complex medium dry palate and bittersweet finish.
Best served at about 55°F (13°C).
Ingredients • water, malted barley, cane sugar, roasted malt, yeast, hops, oatmeal, carbon dioxide.
Registered with The Vegan Society; suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Dark brown cola colored, frothy head. Nutty aroma. Cocoa flavors, nuttiness and mild fruitiness. Haven’t had one of these n a while…better than I remembered.

Stunning appearance: beautiful, exotic color with a perfect, lasting head. The mouthfeel is exceptional syrupy and full, yet never cloying. Toasted oats come through on the finish, along with molasses, light chocolate, toasted bread, and a strong coffee presence. Deep, rich, and beautifully balanced. A true work of art.

Pours a pitch black color with a finger brown head. Retention is excellent as is lacing. Aroma is very light. Mildly roasted grains. Roasted bitterness, grains, and slightly sweet oatmeal on the taste. Silky medium to heavy bodied with moderate carbonation.

Wonderful smell. Great taste, has that oatmeal sweetness but it is not at all overpowering... juuuust right.
I have only had this out of a bottle and my empire to try this on draft.

Cult classic. If you find it fresh, it's unbelievable and tastes like the local microbrewery. Superbly balanced.
If the claim of the orginal sunken well from which the water they still use is still pure and clean they have something that most breweries don't have. Enjoy!
