i dont know these guy to be a lager house, its their famous and classic ales that have made them known around the world, but i was excited to see a few lagers happening when we hit one of their pubs in london. this looks great, clear and bright golden under an inch of creamy white head. the yeast is curious in nose and taste to me, almost more like a fruity mexican lager than an old world english one, things like lime and papaya in here, so unexpected and kind of oddly modern, maybe just some esters from a warmer lager fermentation, not totally sure, but its different and kind of appealing. the rest of the beer doesnt really match it all that well though, like the minimal malt profile and the english bittering hops are classic, and the yeast is strange, so there is some kind of disconnect here, i dont dislike it, but its a little disjointed and it kind of heavies up a little for me, especially as it warms, no more than the sum of its parts this time. a fine afternoon pint to drink down, but i much preferred their double four lager, which has a much cleaner and more traditional complexion to it.

L- clear, pale gold with a white head.
S- grains, mild, pleasant.
T- Light and refreshing
F- Refreshing, went well with lunch
O- A pleasant if unremarkable lager. Sessionable.
Enjoyed this week at one of their pubs, the Cittie or Yorke on Holborn in London. £3.80/pint. The tap-head showed this as being 4.5% and the brewery listing also does https://www.samuelsmithsbrewery.co.uk/product/taddy-lager/ so it appears the listing above at 3.70% is either superceded or simply incorrect.

got in Laurel, MS.
Pours a clear golden color with a white head that quickly fades.
Aroma is fruity with apple and some pepper spice.
Taste has the pepper spice hops, corn husk and grass.
on the tart side, overall just o.k.
